He a is freelance photographer, whose pictures of needy communities are known the world over. He held a Pécsi József Scholarship between 2004–2006. His works have won several awards in Hungary (Hungarian Press Photography Competition, Press Photographer of the Year) and internationally (Picture of the Year International, 2009; Bayeux Calvados Award, 2008; PX3 Photographer of the Year, 2008; World Press Photo, 2002 and 2008). In 2000 he won a scholarship for World Press Photo’s Joop Swart Masterclass, in 2002 the Reuters Foundation’s scholarship to Cardiff University, in 2005 a Getty Images Grant, and in 2011 a Magnum Emergency Fund Grant.
